What we collect, and what we do with it

Short, in English, and accurate. We sell IT security for a living — it would be a poor look to be vague about our own.

The short version

  • We collect what you type into our enquiry form, and what you send us by email or through the support portal.
  • We use it to answer you and to look after your IT. Nothing else.
  • We don't sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers.
  • This website sets no tracking cookies, which is why you haven't been asked to accept any.
  • Ask us and we'll tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.

What we collect through this website

The enquiry form. Your name, business name, email address, phone number if you give one, the size of your team, what you're after, and whatever you write in the message box. All of it is optional except the fields marked required — and you're welcome to email or ring instead.

Email and phone. If you contact us directly, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and so there's a record of what was agreed.

Website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It doesn't tell us who you are.

Nothing hidden. No advertising pixels, no social media trackers, no session recording, no chat widget listening in the corner.

Why we collect it

To reply to you, to quote work, to deliver the services you've asked for, to raise and track support tickets, to invoice, and to keep the records a business is required to keep.

If you become a client, we'll also hold the information needed to actually run your IT — staff names and work email addresses, device details, system documentation and the like. That's covered by our services agreement as well as this page.

We don't send marketing you didn't ask for. If we ever start a mailing list it will be opt-in, and unsubscribing will work first time.

Where it's stored, and who else can see it

We run on business software from established providers rather than storing things ourselves:

  • Zoho — enquiries from the form go into Zoho CRM; support tickets live in Zoho Desk.
  • Microsoft 365 — email and documents.
  • Zoho Books — quotes and invoices.
  • Cloudflare — this website and its analytics.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, which is normal for cloud software and is how essentially every business in the country operates. We choose established providers with published security practices, and we don't grant them any right to use your information for their own purposes.

Beyond that, we share your information only where we genuinely have to: with a specialist we've brought in to work on your systems, with our accountant for billing, or where the law requires it. We never sell it, and we never pass it to anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't go anywhere are kept for a couple of years in case you come back, then removed. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and then for the period Australian tax and business law requires — currently a minimum of five years for financial records.

If you'd like an enquiry deleted sooner, just ask. We'll do it.

Security

We apply the same controls to ourselves that we recommend to clients: multi-factor authentication on every account, managed and encrypted devices, access limited to the people who need it, and no shared logins.

Nobody can promise a system will never be breached, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does. What we can say is that if something happened involving your information, you would hear it from us promptly and honestly, along with what we were doing about it.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, or delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email admin@yougrowit.com.au and it will reach Ben directly. We'll come back to you within a few business days — no forms, no process.

If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll try to fix it. If that doesn't resolve it, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes complaints at oaic.gov.au.

The formal bit

This website and the services described on it are operated by Eden Enterprises Pty Ltd ATF IT Help Trust, ABN 72 312 152 267, trading as YouGrowIT, of Melbourne, Victoria.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we apply them whether or not the Privacy Act's small business threshold happens to capture us in a given year — the standard shouldn't depend on turnover.

The commercial side of the arrangement — scope, billing, cancellation, what happens when you leave — is set out in our terms of service.

If we change this page we'll update the date below. Questions go to admin@yougrowit.com.au or 03 9028 4358.
